Ask Born From Ashes anything...
Q: This is a question I would like to ask Jeremiah, I try to learn how to scream, I was mainly influenced by you, how do you scream? -Your fan Katarina
A: Thank you Katarina! While screaming is commonly viewed as simplistic and overly aggressive, there IS an art form to it. I used to believe that you were either born with the ability to do it or you cant. And it wasnt until a few years ago, I thought I simply couldn't, but realized I was wrong. I have alot to learn myself, but when I took my biggest steps forward vocaly, was when I realized that screaming isnt actually "screaming." ha ha.. Volume has nothing to do with it. Its all about creating that gritty sound you do when your screaming along to your favorite song in your car. The microphone does the rest. Be careful though while working on this. Its very easy to learn the wrong way and damage your vocal chords. I recommend watching "The Zen of Screaming" to help you get started. Its very helpful. :)
