For the past two decades, David Engstrøm, aka The DOC has performed as a solo singer and guitarist in over 2000 shows in 11 countries. More recently he has played more and more U2 music in his cover shows. His love for colored stage sunglasses, along with a certain look and playing style has led to a growing demand to do 'that Bono thing'. This growth in interest in both player and audience for U2 material has led inexorably to the creation of BONO REX, solo live U2 tribute. In 2009, together with master guitar designer David Enke, designed~built The 18 string light body squiggle acoustic~electric guitar...This guitar, called 'Aum Baiélo', is the show guitar of 'The DOC Show Rock Opera' as well as the guitar of The Doc as 'BONO REX'.
