Open blues jam.
Open blues jam.
I'll be part of the house band for the weekly Bluesgate Open Blues Jam at Jekyll & Hyde Restaurant in Frederick, MD along with Ted Jenkins on bass and Andy Conversano on drums. I've been attending this jam on a regular basis since last year and am impressed with the musicians who participate. Sign-up starts at 7:00 and the house band plays a short set starting at 7:30, before getting other musicians up to play. The music goes on 'til 10:30 or until they kick us out.
I'll be hosting the open blues jam at Longshots Billiards in Charles Town, WV along with Christopher (Milkfoot) Leipold on guitar. We play a short set, then let the musicians in the crowd come up and showcase their talent. This jam is always attended by some great players. Longshots Billiards is a great place to hear live music and grab a bite to eat. They serve great burgers, steaks, crab cakes, salads, and wings and offer a large selection of your favorite adult beverages. Thursday is "steak night", featuring a 16 oz. rib-eye, baked potato and a garden salad for only $12.00! To round out the experience, there are six Olhausen professional-quality pool tables for you billiard players, all within sight of the stage. Longshots is located just off of US 340 at 76 Wolfcraft Way, Charles Town, WV. The phone number is 304-724-1975. Music starts at 8:00.
