A NORTHERN CONTRIBUTION featuring PUSHER + CLAY GARDEN + BLOSSOMS PUSHER This band needs no introduction! Having Supported Exit Calm, they have now carved their own niche as one of the best on the Pysch circuit. A massive wall of sound that is an explosion on stage to watch. An Alternative/Dark/Pyschadelic/Indie/LowFi/Doom/Garage band that packs a punch. Lead singer Gilroy delivers a superbly assured vocal performance to the wonderful guitar backdrop. Their singles Cold is just the Dark and Shoot Life are on YouTube, and gives an excellent taste of what Pusher are all about. Look out for their new single Let it Break which is released on 17 March 2014. Alt rock at its finest! Hair raising slides of guitar and distinctive moody vocals. NME CLAY GARDEN Part of an exciting pack of new acts emerging on the South Yorkshire scene, Clay Garden give us a snippet of what might be to come as they continue to evolve and find their niche. With a constantly changing and developing sound, the band have been known to remove material from their Soundcloud page as there new output eclipses the old, and they get better and better at what they do. One track, Disguise Me has been left standing on the Soundcloud page and, if its a sneak preview of what else is to come, these lads could seriously be ones to watch over the next few months. Disguise Me starts with an urgent, infectious lead riff which develops quickly into a pulsating, swirling mix of bass and rhythm guitars. Singer Tom Hale's vocal is bold, confident and full of attitude, completely belying his 17 years of age. Theres a Tom Morrello like quality to that lead riff and it kicks back in again to take the track to the chorus, and Hales call of Disguise me. Its a well-polished track and thats none more apparent than on the standout distorted, psychedelic guitar work in the final act. This is a tantalising teaser of a confident young band who arent afraid to push themselves to mould a new sound and direction. BLOSSOMS Dubbing themselves as a mosaic five piece, Blossoms combine outlandish indie guitar with a contrasting ghostly organ on Stone Roses-esque track Blow. Blow is an epic masterpiece of swirling despair, fashioning a death-defying fall into the dark realms of fantasy. Blossoms may be waiting in the shadows for their break, but this is the sound of determination so strong that it wont be long before it bursts the banks of the mainstream. Although only coming to light at the backdoor of 2013, the drawling voice of Tom Odgen has already been causing quite a stir, with his moody tones painting distorted pictures of decaying romance and creating thick atmospheres of dingy ecstasy. As far as extraordinary goes, Blossoms have already had the utmost admiration as being opening act for Manchesters home-grown Twisted Wheel on their headline tour in 2013. Opening for prestigious acts like them proves that the haunting Blossoms are gently shattering away the shackles of being unknown, and are moving ever closer to the prize of becoming Zane Lowes Hottest Record, an honour that has cemented in place so many bands careers and reputations. Promises of brand-new songs loom on the horizon; so keep your eyes and ears peeled. Blossoms may not be getting all the attention they deserve now; but its only a matter of time before the world falls down to their knees and kisses the ground they tread upon.
