The party doesn’t stop after crossing the finish line! Sean Kingston will headline the 2013 Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Pete Half Marathon Finish Line Concert on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Sean Kingston made his debut in 2007 with his lead single “Beautiful Girls.” The song quickly climbed to number one on the Billboards Hot 100 and was a double-platinum breakout hit. His 2009 album, Tomorrow featured the smash singles “Fire Burning” and Face Drop.” Kingston is currently working on his third-full length album Back 2 Life, which boldly fuses reggae, hip-hop, R&B, and electro to create melody-soaked pop. For Kingston, the urge to achieve the powerfully vibrant sound that permeates Back 2 Life was born during his recovery from a devastating accident. In May 2011, while jet skiing in Miami Beach, Kingston crashed into a bridge and suffered a shattered wrist, broken jaw, and water in his lungs. “A lot’s happened over the past few years—I’ve traveled the world and had relationships and dealt with breakups, so I’m singing from the heart about things that I actually went through,” says Kingston. In capturing the most momentous of those experiences—the accident that nearly cost him his life—Kingston sought to stay positive and focus on his deepened sense of strength and gratitude. “My accident really slowed me down for a while and changed the way I look at things,” he says. “I knew I needed to address that on the album, but my goal was to do it in an upbeat sort of way. So the songs on Back 2 Life are catchy and up tempo and everyone can have a great time to them, but at the same there’s no doubt that it’s all the way real.” Finish Line: North Shore Park Finish Line Festival: 7:30 am – 12:00 pm **Concert schedule will be announced closer to the event. Bands Along the Course Music makes up the heart and “sole” of this event. Live bands will be performing a variety of music from alternative, classic and punk rock to blues, jazz and soul along each mile of the race course. The bands set the tempo for this marathon party, where runners and spectators alike will be “dancin’ in the streets” to these mini-concerts

Local rockers, FaLL On PurpOse, Rock American Rhythm & Brews to help the family of a fallen comrade. St. Petersburg, FL - Saturday, February 9 will be a day of rock, hip-hop, and remembrance as local musicians come together to help celebrate the life of one of their own. Sadly, local radio personality, and club music mixologist, DeeJay Trauma died of the flue during the first weeks of the new year. Trauma, as he was commonly referred to, was a mainstay of the Tampa Bay club scene and a regular on local radio. As a tribute to him, as well as to help out his family during a time of loss, the local brotherhood of Tampa Bay musicians is coming together to raise money to go to the unfortunate expenses associated with his passing. Headlined by legendary local ska/punk rockers Fall On Purpose, and accompanied by such local faves as John Abreu, Bob Hope Band, Trigger City Trio, MC Gino, and Dave Cowen, the evening promises to be, as Fall On Purpose front man Matt "the Deerkat" Bistock puts it, "'the type of spectacle that any performer would want to have as there send off in to the great beyond". It all kicks off at pm on Saturday, February 9 at American Rhythm & Brews, located at 2595 54th Avenue North, in St. Petersburg. A charity raffle of music memorabilia is planned for the evening as well as a bevy of music and mischief. There will be a nominal door charge, and all proceeds will go to charity.
