Black Suede Shoes were formed in 2003 and consist of Alex Beckhelling and Aaren Bennett.
Having jammed together many times, they decided to form up as a duo and start playing out live. For several years 'Black Suede Shoes' performed in pubs and clubs, acoustic nights, and also held a residency at a Norwich restaurant. During this time they have written original material which has come together to become their debut album 'Carbon Foot Prints'. This is released in December 2009
Aaren Bennett is a very talented Electric and Acoustic guitarist and has been playing since he was 15 when he would practice his scales to rave music to get him up to speed. A great all round musician and producer, he is also lead guitarist with 'Whole Lotta Hair', a successful classic rock covers act in the East Anglia area.
In Black Suede Shoes Aaren is principle guitarist and provides supporting vocals. He uses various open tunings and loves experimenting with harmonies and different techniques in the studio and in a live situation.
Alex Beckhelling has been playing music since he was 3. A qualified sound engineer and producer, His first instrument is Piano, and has played keyboards in various acts over the years. In more recent times Alex has been involved with East Anglia Indie band ‘The Chill’ with whom he produced the album ‘TBA’. www.the-chill.com Later on Alex decided to move on from ‘The Chill’ in order to focus on Black Suede Shoes.
In Black Suede Shoes Alex is lead Vocalist, plays acoustic guitar and keyboards.
