The summer of 2006 saw the amalgamation of 3 like minded spirits and thus Solomon Kane was born.

Long time friends of the South Wales Punk/Stoner/Doom scene, guitarist Clint and bassist Clem - ex members of the legendary Mondo Trans Shop came together with drummer Chris who had been the driving force behind the doom titans Diabolo, punk marrauders Disco Assassins and sludge merchants The Cull. Chris is also currently the bassist in Set Forth This Alliance...With Fire! and well known hardcore outfit Taint.

Unfortunately after a few shows they had to change their name and settled on Black Cesar, after a 17th Century Haitian pirate.
The early stages of the Black Cesar saw close friend Aziz Ibsule, the frontman from Channel 9 on vocals, however, years of loud riff damage to his ears had resulted in severe tinitus and he had to gracefully and sadly bow out. A decision was finally made to stay as an instrumental unit, letting the music speak for itself.

Recently Black Cesar have become 4 and risen to an entirely new level with the addition of another ex Mondo Trans Shop member, George on lap steel guitar and shows with Raging Speedhorn, Shaped By Fate, Zonderhoof, Future Of The Left and Crippled Black Pheonix have heralded an explosive new dawn for the band.

Black Cesar recorded 2 exclusive tracks for their 7" vinyl split single with Zonderhoof on Seven Records in their Bristol studio whilst recording their debut album for Total Prog Records.

Seven Inch Records have taken reciept of the final mix, the split single is due for release on 29 Jan 09, with UK distribution being handled by Code7 / Plastichead.
