Q: Billy, being an aspiring rapper in the Naij is a "brave" thing. why do you think the HipHop genre is fizzling out in the Industry, and what do you think you can do to change that?

A: The Hip-Hop genre is not fizzling out. Rappers need to be more original and at the same time not loose the crowd. In 9ja artist mostly sacrifice originality for the trend. Its all about having a strong foundation and growing. If you keep on switching style and input based on trend everybody is gonna know your fake. Just take a look at the 9ja rappers killing it in the industry today. They do their thing and everybody else wants to follow. As for me I incorporate trend but dont sacrifice style. The Hip-Hop culture will be rich in my music but one can never mistake it for just plain ol Hip-Hop. I make sure you know that its direct from 9ja. #nuffsaid
