About
Bill Gentry is already an underground country music star across the Southeast with an electrifying stage show described as “Springsteen channeled through Alan Jackson.” Now comes his long-awaited debut single, “I WANT WHAT YOU WANT,” that is going to take his music nationwide.
‘I Want What You Want” is the perfect introduction to Bill Gentry, a revved up and rocking celebration of traditional country values. The single is the first glimpse of “COUNTRIFIED,” the upcoming album that was produced in Nashville by Garth Fundis, renowned for his work with Keith Whitley, Sugarland, Trisha Yearwood, Alabama and Don Williams.
“I’ve never made a record like this before,” Fundis says. “It’s special because of Bill’s energy and his understanding of who he is as an artist. We set the bar high and didn’t compromise. I’m very proud of this record.”
The dream of being a country music singer is rooted in Bill Gentry’s past. He grew up on a cattle farm in Carrollton, Ga., about 15 miles north of Alan Jackson’s hometown. Over the last decade, he has honed his stagecraft as he performed for more than a million fans and built a devoted following.
“Right now is when country music should be most alive,” Gentry says. “Country has always been about the common man, and we’re all struggling right now. I want my music to speak to them, in a way that embraces the roots and values of America.”
Bill plans a heavy schedule of concerts across the country over the next year. Bill Gentry has arrived, and his calling card is an album that is being greeted by insiders as one of the best records of the year. In the words of the title track, get ready to be Countrified!
