About

Dreams should never be reduced in potency by subjecting them to reality.

When I set out to create my musical tapestry, there was one specific focus I had in mind, if indeed I had any:

to combine simplicity and elegance at once and apply them using different approaches from those that had been used before.

I have never studied music, unless you consider those half-dozen or so guitar lessons I took when I was a teenager.

I have always felt this is my great advantage, rather than a weakness. It is this fresh perspective that I bring to the scene, since I am not influenced by what should be possible by theory, but rather choose what is possible through experimentation. It is this technique which allows me to present that which seems familiar and feels comfortable, while breaking outside the boundaries of what is fashionable or technically correct. It also means that I don't have to adhere to ANY rules, save one:

does it sound good?

My recently deceased father studied for many years as an operatic tenor, so the classics were introduced to me at a very young age. Great tragedy struck me and my family when I was seven years old, thrusting me into a vicious world for which was totally unprepared. Through this tragedy I was introduced to the modern pop music emerging at that time, via The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Turtles, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, to name but a few. Later I would be a big fan of jazz, both traditional and the fusion scene with artists like Weather Report and Return To Forever. Thus I bring many musical visions into focus for the discerning listener who has grown tired of the repetitiveness and drudgery that modern music has for the most part become.

With this in mind, I present my musical works to you, the discerning listener. There has been great pain and great joy bringing these works of art to life. I hope you enjoy listening to them. If they bring you joy or pleasure, I hope you'll share that with me.
