Have you ever watched a movie with the background music turned down or off ? You probably found that there was something lacking...
Music has the ability to express and intensify emotions, to touch ones' soul - or to overpower him...
This vision is what transpires when experiencing Beyond The Labyrinth's music, a hybrid, powerful, yet subtle mix of Classic Melodic Rock with pop, goth, progressive, symphonic and movie soundtrack influences
- Beyond The Labyrinth's music sounds like what would happen if Hans Zimmer, Angus Young and Bjorn and Benny would decide to form a rock band ...
Beyond The Labyrinth are :
(guitar and keyboard player, main composer) Geert Fieuw - Gifted with a great ear for melody, Geert quickly found out that it was much more fun trying to come up with your one's own music.
Trying to combine the sheer raw power from AC/DC with the songwriting from Abba and the imagery of movie soundtracks can only come from someone that transcends musical boundaries - resulting in Beyond The Labyrinth's unique sound and approach.
(singer) Jo De Boeck, a very pragmatic, down to earth kind of guy with a great sense of humor that often manages to put Geert back with his feet on the ground when the latter spends too much time floating on "Planet-BTL" as Jo calls it. Jo De Boeck's broad influences range from AOR, Classic Rock, West Coast and beyond. Jo's voice is an irrevocable part of Beyond The Labyrinth 's sound.
(bass player) Gerry "Krenryg" Verstreken, "Mr Rock 'n' Roll Incarnated" . Gerry is a great guy that lives for his music and brings experience, depth, drive and showmanship to Beyond The Labyrinth's sound and looks. If there's anyone that has contributed to the band growing stronger on stage, it must be Gerry .
(drum player) John Van Tongelen is one of those rare guys who manage to maintain the holistic approach to a rock band, while at the same time keeping the machine running. Punchy and hard hitting, or refined and calculate, John always manages to make the difference.
All band members share the same passion for music, years of experience and musical insight, and will, in the recording studio, push and work on the songs, sound and production until completely satisfied - or completely exhausted, whatever comes first ;).
For their 3rd album "Chapter III-Stories", Beyond The Labyrinth have chosen a "Work in Progress" method, releasing the music through iTunes and as virtual singles as it gets recorded. A release date for "Chapter III-Stories" has not been fixed yet.
