It is with regret that due to a multitude of reasons, that the label will cease any new physical operations on the 1st of November 2009.
Benbecula Records has been established as one of the most respected Scottish labels, specializing in electronica, down tempo, ambient and freestyle music. It’s cavalier attitude to music and it’s highly popular subscription service has made it unique, quirky and lauded by the press, radio and its peers.

 | Benbecula Records is the most successful electronica label in Scotland and in recent years has broadened its roster to include indie, jazz and modern folk. Started in 1999, it was an immediate favourite of the late great John Peel who had Benbecula's artist "Christ." in for a landmark live session in 2003. The label maintains a highly successful subscription service featuring its "Minerals Series" - highly limited monthly CD albums containing music that would otherwise not see the light of day, further enhancing the label's wish to reach the public on every level. In 2005, Benbecula Music Publishing was formed to promote its catalogue in the media. Benbecula remains a step ahead of its peers by daring to go where others fear to tread, but remaining a formidable global force in highly modern but entertaining music. |
