“Few bands have so much going for them in the commercial pop-rock realm as this San Diego act. Not only is Isaiah Blas blessed with a smoothly appealing voice, but the material is memorable and the production is high caliber. With Stadium-sized sing-along chants, strings sections, concussive effects in the tracks, "Halfway", "Young & A Memory" & the rainy-day rocker "Battle", offer music that is alternatively epic and introspective, always hook-centric, uber-radio-ready and film/tv-friendly. We have no idea why a label has not yet signed this band.”
“Los Angeles, CA alt-pop-rock band Belmont Lights‘ highly anticipated debut EP Telegraphs is available for purchase on iTunes and Bandcamp. Hailing from sunny San Diego, the band was formed in 2009 after frontman Isaiah Blas won San Diego’s Songwriting Competition, earning a spot on the House of Blues SD main stage. The band spent two years playing up-and-down the West Coast, honing their soaring, melodic sound. Telegraphs was recorded at LA’s very own historic Westlake Recording Studios under producer Alejandro Barajas, engineered by Michael Sanchez and mixed by Mike Ault of Ault Sound. It was mastered by Robert Vosgien (Etta James, Demi Lovato, Saosin, Sick Puppies) at Capitol Records. The release lives up to its title, as from start to finish it delivers an ambient journey through the inner workings of relationships and the human heart.”
“Belmont Lights has a sultry sound; you may have heard today’s feature playing on the radio and found yourself singing along to the beat and relating to the tune…”
"Originally known as The Pennant, this quartet has been touring the west coast hard the past few years. This inspirational tune is the perfect start to this month’s Dose. You can’t help but hear the chorus to this song and think of large arenas of fans singing this one back at these boys. One can only hope that if they ever do get where they are going, they don’t stop there either."

“Hailing from sunny San Diego, the alternative rock quartet Belmont Lights are no strangers to modern musicianship – the band spent two years playing up-and-down the West Coast. They spent the time honing their soaring, melodic sound, all the while garnering attention from numerous industry officials. One name change later, the group is ready to hit the mainstream in a big way. Belmont Lights’ debut EP was released in July 2012. Aptly titled Telegraphs, the release from start to finish delivers an ambient journey through the inner workings of relationships and the human heart. Isaiah Blas’s warm vocals coupled with the smooth, driving instrumentation create an overall very enjoyable experience. The EP as a whole practically drips with nostalgia, and by the end of it you’re left feeling like you just came home, in the best way.Telegraphs is available on iTunes, and for free streaming via the band website. “I hadn’t a clue what to think until he actually started his first song. Then I was amazed! This young man, seemingly nervous, played the piano like no one I had heard in quite a while. It was soulful, with gospel in its roots, heavy on the bass, with minor and major chord inversions that only the would-be love child of Ray Charles and Billy Joel would have made. Then he sang… low tenor, very much a tone catered to modern R&B, and with a great deal of talent I gave him my card and the rest is history.”
