Bio
Melodic Heavy Rock with influences from STP, AiC and RHCP, Classic Rock to Modern Electronica, Punk, Latin and Maritime styles, BELLYCHAIN dares to ask why music can't be interesting, fun, melodic, funky and heavy, all at the same time!
About
Each player brings their own sonic assault to the table: Being the principal songwriter, guitar player Troy Madden makes sure this band doesn't slow down in the slightest; Mick Beresford's Heavy Metal roots shine when he chugs those glorious power chords on the rhythym guitar; Richie Johnson's funky, "Flea meets Paul McCartney" bass guitar style lays the funk down and doesn't look back; Dana Johnson's double kick antics keep the boys grounded with a rock-solid foundation.
With Mick, Troy and Richie trading off vocal duties, the range of music possible for Bellychain becomes staggering. Eschewing bands that are all about one player, they have come to appreciate the bands that are "all-stars", and strive to make every piece of music as interesting on each instrument as possible, yet maintain a melodic, but heavy feel.
Many bands derive their influences from one, maybe two genres, but Bellychain happily cites just about every genre available to us in North America: Rock, Pop, Metal, Celtic, Punk, Latin, Jazz, Classical, Funk, Disco, Folk, Electronica, and Alternative, to name but a few.
