Their sound is a smoking mix of melodic, and syncopated at the same time. The Vocals soar, backed by a solid bass and drum team. You will wear out your repeat button with this one.”

“If you walk past BayFest’s Launching Pad Stage on Friday evening and you notice a band so excited that its members’ feet aren’t touching the ground, you’re probably looking at Before Nine. The Gulf Coast quintet — featuring members from Mississippi and Mobile — is fresh off the most exciting experience of its career: Opening for classic rock band Kiss at a Houston-area arena show Sept. 17. “It was everything we had dreamed it would be,” he said of the performance. He got to meet Gene Simmons backstage, the stage crew treated the band graciously, and Before Nine played for a crowd he estimated at 12,000 to 15,000 people. Before Nine might later win a grand prize that includes a $10,000 Guitar Center shopping spree. They might pique the interest of Simmons, who does have a record label, after all. But that would just be gravy. “Our dream has already come true,” Merriam said. ”
“The Gulf Coast band Before Nine’s star is shining brighter than ever after they opened for legendary rock band KISS at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion two weeks ago thanks to an online contest. Made up of lead singer David Merriam and his guitarist brother Mark, who both grew up in Spring, Before Nine learned of the ongoing, nationwide unsigned band competition in June. “It felt just like I had always dreamed it would feel ... 15,000 people cheering for us. What a rush,” David said. “After opening for our childhood heroes KISS, signing autographs and throwing our CD to hundreds of people, we are more motivated than ever to make that experience a nightly occurrence.” By the end of May, the group was No. 1 in the Houston market for the concert that was held Sept. 17.”
“Before Nine brings an unmistakable attitude to the stage. Before Nine is breaking all the molds with original radio friendly rock sound honed with each members’ songwriting ability.”
“This rock outfit has already made a name for itself up and down the Gulf Coast with their raw, unbridled rock, which has earned them spots at BayFest as well as Pensacola’s RockFest. ”
“Before Nine tracks such as “Love Hate Love” really represent this band’s attitude, simultaneously showcasing power and control. The variable nature of this song’s percussion is matched only by the organized chaos of a guitar brimming full of harmonics and finger trips. ”
“Rated Before 9’s first album a 4 out of 5!”
"I was very impressed by the display of raw passion set forth on the stage and I support them 100%".
"The album is filled with excellent tracks which have many different topics to share. With “fantastic guitar solos, catchy hooks & unique percussion you typically don't hear, they have “pure energy and passion for what they do. This is a fantastic, very well rounded album worthy of a listen.”
"They give us a debut album which is filled with deep lyrics and some unthinkable guitar riffs".
