Biography:

“At Bedsty Music, we aim to create and deliver music you FEEL; that is our ultimate mission whatever the genre we venture into,” quotes Syaheed. With this strong vision and dedication, he formed Bedsty Music in 2003 with long-time collaborator and mentor, Ko Ko da Beatman, working with artists like Ahli Fiqir (Malaysia) Teh Tarik Crew (Malaysia), Too Phat (Malaysia), Dina (Malaysian Idol Runner-up), Taufik Batisah (Singapore Idol), Hady Mirza (Asian Idol), Bonafide Vintage Flav'r (Singapore), Mark Bonafide (Singapore), ProjecTunes (Brunei), Majestic (Jamaica), Lil' Z (USA), Triple Noize (Singapore) and many more local and regional acts.

The name “Bedsty Music” was carefully chosen. It is a composite of two words, "bed" & "sty", referring to the messy state of Syaheed's bedroom as the music began to flow out from the speakers. It is also an ode and tribute to a place in New York called "Bedford Stuyversant", nicknamed “Bedstuy” where some of the best and most respected Hip Hop artists came out from. Artists like Mos Def and Notorious B.I.G. whom Syaheed draws as significant influences in his love affair with Hip Hop.

Bedsty Music today boast some of the best urban music producers in the region as part of the team, including Ko Ko da Beatman (Singapore/USA), Fiquetional (Malaysia), Sara Wee [of 53A] (Singapore), Yasz (Singapore), and young up-and-coming producer/performer Rauzan of BrandNewFeeling (Singapore). “We intend to pave the way for the next generation of Urban acts out of Singapore and beyond by working with them closely, delivering the best quality music available on the street,” says a determined Syaheed.

In the last 4 years, Syaheed has released a 3-track single, and Bedsty Music's production works have received radio airplay in 6 countries, attained 5 #1 singles* in 5 countries, and even 3 nominations at Anugerah Planet Musik 2006 and one at the Anugerah Era 2007.
