Q: Hey BWAM, my name is Brian Bosarge of the Christian Rock band Centurion's Faith. I would love to talk to you about what you do and how we could minister to a wider audience. God Bless You!
A: Hi Brian, Thank you for the inquiry and question. Just to give you a little bit of background about myself. I have brokered many different deals for artists to work with labels, management, distribution, booking agents, marketing companies, pr firms, speakers bureaus, book publishers, modeling agencies and even pitched bands to major networks for reality shows. One of the most common MISconceptions for an indie artist is that they think they can not survive without a record label. Now, is a record label beneficial, absolutely, BUT it is not a necessity. I even heard this phrase echoed in my meeting last week with one of the heads of Sony Red. The first step which should go without saying, are your songs. If you work on perfecting your songs then you are already a step ahead of the game. It's surprising how many people think that just because they have completed songs they deserve national exposure. Once you have great songs it's important to start promoting them….for free. (Twitter, Facebook, reverbnation) The more ways you can get your songs in to the head of the consumer the better. Be strategic, if you aren't playing shows in Oregon…then don't concentrate on that market. Work hard and be creative on how you market yourselves, after all…it's a business! The benefit to our company is that you can come to Nashville to showcase and have industry executives tell you specifically what it is that you should be working on to improve your career. And if you are ready, we will present you to some of the top dogs and get you to start working with them. Let me know if you have any other questions and i'm looking forward to hearing Centurion's Faith. Austin@bandwithamission.com
