PROVERBIAL w/ Balahougan $7 | Doors:8pm | Show:9pm FOR FANS OF: Sublime, The Roots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police and Led Zeppelin. PROVERBIAL BIO: Drawing from a diverse musical palette of funk, rock, reggae, and hip-hop, Proverbial seamlessly intertwines their music with heart-felt vocal harmonies and powerful lead vocals. Recognized for their amazing live performances, Proverbial rocks the crowds with their HIGH energy, no limits take on sonic audio expression. Proverbial has a roster of successes under their belt, with their direct supporting slots with Sublime w/ Rome, Tribal Seeds, FLOBOTS, Ballyhoo!, and Crash Kings just to name a few. This led to a very active 2013, playing 100+ shows and a performance at the Jersey Shore Music Festival alongside Aer and Papadosio. They were named “Band on the Verge” in Relix magazine and were also chosen to co-headline at the Bud Light Reggae Fest in Mount Snow, VT! Proverbial hit the studio in late Fall 2013 to record a new full-length album titled “Pick up the Pieces.” The album was mixed and mastered at The Rhythm Shack in Richmond, VA with engineer Eric “Spade” Haynes [Busta Rhymes, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown.] “Positive energy and vibes is still our central message from the first album to this second release,” said member Thomas Whitesell, (saxophone/vocals). “The moral compass of our songs always points in the same direction of positivity and perseverance no matter what life brings your way.” Gathering momentum from their sophomore offering, Pick up the Pieces, the group’s boundless potential has certainly been noted and will only continue to unfold as they travel the country sowing their musical oats. Keep your eyes and ears open as they continue to spread the PROVERBIAL sound...And be prepared to dance your ass off! ************************************************************ BALAHOUGAN https://www.facebook.com/Balahougan Balahougan creates the unification of traditional African drums and influence with Roots, Rock, Reggae, and Hip Hop to blend a melody with polyrhythmic beat. We thrive on continually educating and growing as a group. To actualize an immense atmosphere of people with good vibrations who like to have a good time and cut loose, we bring a monolith of sound that will keep you out of your seat! Balahougan strives to maintain a professional demeanor in order to remain as solid as we can be. We want to reach as many people as possible and share in the unique vibration we provide to create musical unity between ourselves and our audience.

All donations are greatly appreciated and will help tremendously. Can't wait to see everyone there!! ♥ www.lupus.org Lupus affects more than 1.5 million people a year. Of this, I personally know 2. My mother and sister are both fighting this disease. My mother was diagnosed over 30 years ago and my sister was recently diagnosed this past year. For anyone who has seen this disease first hand, you know all too well how incredibly heart-wrenching it is to watch a loved one fight such a brutal battle with every ounce of being that their weak and often feeble body can manage. My mother has fought it for most of her life and all of my own. I could go on for days about the amount of hospitalizations, doctor consultations, medications and countless hours that she has spent searching, looking for answers, a solution, some kind of relief from her daily struggles to simply survive. Aside from the usual aspects of growing up, I have spent my entire life wondering how much more time I might actually have with my mother. She has suffered through endless surgeries, 2 strokes and most recently a heart attack. (Talk about being strong-willed). I hate the thought of anyone else in the future having to suffer through this devastating disease. We need answers, WE NEED A CURE! Please help me in my efforts to fight through this with my family, and with any of your loved ones who may be fighting this brutal battle themselves. Lets Do This!
