Badd Seed / Press

“Closing out this showcase was Badd Seed. Singer Dusty Witherspoon, guitarist Troy Wheland, bassist Brad Combs and drummer Ron Mantinchek generated a hard, no-nonsense modern rock sound, introducing several original compositions and select covers. Dusty worked the stage and room, confidently stepping out to the audience and drawing their attention to the onstage action. Badd Seed rocked with original songs such as “Wide Open” and “Let Me Run,” along with modern rock covers from Redlight King, A Perfect Circle, Seether and Rage Against the Machine.”

“Last month’s band on our cover of The Pennsylvania Musician, Badd Seed opened the show at Tubby’s that night. Badd Seed had their fans in the palm of their hands that night dancing and requesting songs. Three new Badd Seed originals were heard that night as well. Aaron Zimmerman of Sonic Productions, who recorded these 3 originals, was on hand to hear those songs live.”

“[Guitarist Troy Whelnad], singer Dusty Witherspoon, bassist Brad Combs and drummer Ron Mantinchek generated a hard modern rock sound, introducing several original compositions and select covers. Witherspoon worked the stage and eventually the room, confidently stepping out to the audience and drawing their attention to the action onstage. Badd Seed rocked with original songs such as “Wide Open” and “Let Me Run,” along with modern rock covers from Redlight King, A Perfect Circle, Seether and Rage Against the Machine.”

“Troy and Dusty are the songwriters of the group and they started out with a hit, "Let Me Run" catches you right from the beginning of the song with their hard and heavy beats, and obviously the chorus of "Let Me Run" is quick to learn and has you singing along by the end of the song.”
