RL Heyer Album Release/ Norman Baker and the Backroads Friday, December 12, 2014RL Heyer Album Release/ Norman Baker and the Backroads8:30pm RL Heyer has put together a band of incredible musicians with a thick instrumentation (Kathy Moore-Guitar/Vocals, Steve Scalfati- Keyboards/Vocals, Bob Rees- Percussion/Vibraphone, Norman Baker- Bass/Vocals, Daniel Nash- Drums/Vocals) and rich harmonies to play music from his brand new, eclectic solo album entitled Sweet Action. Norman Baker spent his childhood wreaking havoc, inventing comic characters, writing raps, and playing sports in Kent, Wa. Surrounded by a family of musicians, he was first influenced by his mother, father, and uncle, as well as Patsy Cline, the Beatles, Bob Marley, and Tom Waits. Since picking up the guitar and bass at the age of 12 he's been composing music and playing various instruments in many bands throughout the U.S., Chile, and Nigeria. These days he's influenced by Justin Townes Earle, George Jones, The Band, Charley Pride, Neil Young, Doc Watson, and continues impressing new fans at places like Seattle's Folklife Festival, The Tractor Tavern, Seattle Art Museum, and Columbia City Theater with his band Norman Baker & the Backroads. No cover. The musicians are compensated by your donations. Reservations are available for patrons who are planning to have dinner before and during the show.
