So, this is it... After kicking each other out of the band, Asleep in a Box has decided to take an indefinite hiatus from playing live. “I have played a lot of videogames in my time. Lots and lots of videogames. Is this context informing my understanding of this track? Possibly. "Dodge D" seems to be the perfect soundtrack for a side-scrolling shooter; I am thinking perhaps Rush'n Attack or perhaps Contra. Definitely a Konami game... "Dodge D" has a very real drive to it and the musical personality that is downright required for an instrumental track to stand on its own. There is enough of interest going on that you can't even find a place where you'd want to fit in lyrics (or where lyrics would even fit). "Dodge D" is a triumphant, slow-motion explosion, slowed down to the point where you can see all the mini-explosions that make a big one. No cheat codes needed.”
