Hello, My name is Ashley and I go by the name Ashley Marseé. I hail from Houston Texas where I was born and raised. I come from an artistic family of singers, musicians, dancers, actors, and visual artists. The passion for song and music are imbedded in me and is now forcing me to take action in getting my voice heard. The types of music that I enjoy performing are R&B, Soul, Gospel, Inspirational, and Pop. My style would fit somewhere within the categories mentioned. Some of the artists that have inspired my style of singing are Whitney Houston, Stephanie Mills, Yolanda Adams, Gladys Knight, Luther Vandross, Patti Labelle, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige and Tamia to name a few. I like to sing with passion like those artists. I am also drawn to singers and songwriters that make an effort to put messages in their music that would offer inspiraton to the listeners. I have been singing as long as I could remember but didn't start to pursue it seriously until the age of 11. The local Houston scene is familiar with me since I have performed around town at different events and venues as a soloist. I am not only a singer but I am a performer and has dabbled in dancing, acting, and public speaking. Something that I promised myself was to stay true to who I am as a young lady and as an artist. By doing so I would like to bring R&B music back to what it once was during the Motown Era. During that time, singers were singers and were not here today and gone tomorrow as we see today. Singing is something that I knew I was meant to do when a little girl once approached me after a performance with tears in her eyes. She said to me that a part of the song that I was singing during my performance, brought back fond memories of her mother who had passed away the previous year. Those tears that I saw fall from her eyes brought me to tears  because I never knew that my voice could touch someone in such a deep way.

My support system is wonderful. Those that have stood by me and encouraged me from the beginning which are my family and some close friends are the other driving force in my quest for getting my voice heard by a broader market. I am a teamplayer and enjoy collaborating with others, so sharing my creative mojo with others is something I look forward to. As a young woman coming up trying to enter the music industry, I have found it hard. The struggle to get there is the inspiration behind the song that you hear in my profile (Demo of Beautiful Struggle). Trials and tribulations come with the territory and thats understood, therefore I am taking each and every avenue and opportunity that presents itself to me. People often want to imitate those that are aleady making a mark and I have been compared to others in the indsutry but I assure you that I have a style that has not been heard before and will prove it once given the chance.
