“In "Louisiana My Home," a song on the new Ashes of Babylon CD, the singer promises he's going to "stay true to [his] Cajun culture." That line is indicative of lyrics that often relate to Cajun and Louisianian concerns. In fact, the very title of the new CD - Day to Day Living - could be seen as expressing a particularly Cajun view of life. The band roster is laced with Cajun names - Saucier, Guidry, Daigle. At least a few fans must have marveled that such a crew can create such a consistently authentic reggae sound. Everything on the disc, including vocal delivery, fits solidly into reggae tradition. While there is some crossover, multi-genre work on the CD, for the most part, it's purist reggae.”
