Barry Kingston: Piano.
Barry the enigma, a talented piano player who is not prepared to say too much here about his past!!
Clarissa Vincent: Saxophone.
Date of Birth: April 1961
Current Job: Performance and teaching
Clarissa graduated with a BA Honours in Sociology at the University of the West of England.
A dream of sailing to Spain materialised and slipped almost seamlessly into a voyage to west Africa, eventually exploring hundreds of miles up the River Gambia. And with her went music. Friends will tell you that if you follow the sinuous sounds of a saxophone on a sunny afternoon, or subtle guitar chords quietly floating on a warm evening's air, you will likely find Clarissa. For making music is as essential a part of her everyday life as breathing.
Clarissa's voyaging may be over - at least for the present - but her musical journey knows no bounds, and, thanks to the internet, reaches out to audiences worldwide.
She regularly plays live music for pubs, weddings and festivals, occasionally solo, but her favourite show is with the Barry Kingston Trio.
She lives on a boat in Woodbridge, Suffolk, UK.
Garry Wiseman: Bass and Vocals.
Born in Woodbridge, Suffolk . 1955
Growing up listening music from both sides of the Atlantic thanks to his parents and their American friends it is hardly surprising that Garry decided he wanted to make music himself. Garry learnt guitar at school and played in local bands as Bass player and Vocalist during the 70's. During the late 80's Garry played less gigs than before as he was spending more and more time working as an engineer both live and recording rather than playing. The 90's found Garry's engineering skills in demand working full time within the entertainment industry, this even included a spell as touring engineer with "Hogan's Hero's" and the great "Albert Lee". Gigging as a musician had become a rare occurrence, Garry says "working with Albert and the Hero's made me realise that my playing was fairly ordinary" his work in the industry kept him busy and his instruments remained firmly locked away., although he did gig as a vocalist from time to time. A friend finally persuaded him to take his bass to a local jam session in early 2008 where he met Barry and Clarissa, after a few weeks of playing at the session Garry found that he could play jazz, a style which he had always aspired to play and "The Barry Kingston Trio" was born. Nearly 3 years down the line the trio continue to enjoy local success and Garry is enjoying playing more than ever before.
When asked to comment on the highs and lows of his musical journey he says "I have had a fantastic time playing and engineering music over the years and have met and worked with loads of amazing people, as for the lows? Not becoming a full time musician when I had the chance I guess, but my life wouldn't be the same now if I had. Other regrets? Selling my Wilson semi and my much treasured 1975 Gherson jazz bass apart from that not really, and I have found another Gherson in recent times”
He currently plays electric bass guitars from Fender USA , and Gherson Italy aas well as electro acoustic bass guitars from Dean. Amplifiers are by Ashdown Engineering and Warwick.
