The CliQ / Bio

Jim is the lead guitarist and vocalist for “The CliQ” a top 40 original rock 3 piece band.. Presently Jim is playing in Nashville and Atlanta. Jim plays a wide variety of music including Top 40, Classic Rock, Country, Americana, Latin, Reggae, Caribbean and Jazz.
Jim has played venues from 150 seats to 10,000 and enjoy all of it.
Jim was in the band that wrote the theme song for the original Farm Aid called “Ain’t Had Much Luck Yet”. They traveled playing the song at rallys, on the radio and television. They road with the farmers as they traveled to Washington D.C. all the way to Plains GA in front of the President Carter, to protest the grain embargo’s.
Jim has been in concert with The Commodores, KC and the Sunshine Band, The Platters, Buck Owens, Hank Thompson, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, as well as Ted Nugent, REO Speedwagon and The Dixie Dregs.
Jim has done many radio ads (i.e. Blue Cross, Blue Shield) and his music is on the radio and Television throughout Nevada, Idaho, California, Montana, Tenneesee and Georgia.

- Toured extensively throughout Canada and western United States as a headliner and opening act. Credits include being rated #1 Indie Band in the Northwest with radio airplay of independent hit, “Just Look In My Eyes”

Pat McGuiness
Pat began playing drums at the age of nine and by the age of sixteen he was involved with the North Carolina Beach Music scene, playing all kinds of beach and shag music. Over the past years he has increased his knowledge of and versitility in playing styles ranging from Rock n' Roll, Pop Rock, Motown, Funk, and progressive jazz. Having relocated to Atlanta in the early 70's, he has not only participated in other local bands such as "One Flight Up", "Tried and True", "Marble Creek", " The Billy George Band", and "Gypsy Union", but promoted his own band "Shannon" which toured the Southeast for over three years. Pat brings his expertise to the forefront with his unique drumming style and stage performance which is enhanced by the cohesive collaboration with the other guys in the band. Together with their diversity in music styles, they bring an exciting new interpretation and energy to their original music.
Steve Timpson
Steve, a native of southern Michigan, began his music career in the Lansing area in the early 70's in the shadows of players like Ted Nugent, and Bob Segar before relocating to southern Florida, where Steve became a fan of southern rock playing with several local bands throughout the 80's. Having been on the road with the famous Chicago Bluesman Ronnie Baker Brooks for two years and settling in Chicago, Steve opened Red Cobra Studios where he produced several well known Chicago area groups including "Howard and the White Boy's", and " Mr. Blotto" before returning to Atlanta, Ga.. Steve is an accomplished guitarist, bassist, and songwriter, as well as a mean harp player. After Playing with Pat in the "Gypsy Union" band, they met up with Jim and decided to form "The Cliq", an all original band.
