RoPatron / Bio

Roland realized his passion for music growing up in the early 80's. Living on music like Earth, Wind & Fire, Zapp & Roger and Santana, he quickly fell in love with the r&b/soul sounds of his generation. His earliest recording method consisted of recording music on cassette tapes, and using a dual cassette player to chop the music and make a master mix. From there, he began mixing and spinning records and became a party favorite. He dj'd by the name Ro or Rolo.
As a teenager, he fell in love with Hip Hop and the raw uncut styles of N.W.A., Public Enemy,  Run DMC, etc. He, with the help of two childhood friends formed a hip hop dance crew and performed in many talent shows. He started out mixing on cassette tapes and later upgraded his knowledge to mixing on tables. He was determined to learn every aspect of the production process. During high school, he and a group of friends in his neighborhood created a crew named Prodigiez, which consisted of members Teq, Dead Beat and Ro Patron, who played more of a behind the scenes role in the group. He was later involved with producing and promoting local Salem artists such as 684, Who's Next, Deshawn Jordan, Potnus in Ryme, Tektosemperium, Wyazker of Def Con 5, Joey Wooddrum from Low Down and Game Dog Quiz. His goal is to continue to produce, master and soon work with major artists world wide!

You can catch Ro Patron working with or enjoying music at a local venue or working hard perfecting his craft in his home studio.
