Trash City Rockers are a Cocoa Florida based punk band that formed in 2008. The group started on the front steps of bassist Jimmy Ferrell's duplex apartment. From there the group formed into a solid three piece, adding Cameron Brintle – an established front man and long-time local music veteran – on drums.
The initial concept was to create simple rockabilly influenced punk songs, but as the group took shape a range of styles came together that took the best from the three member’s different tastes and influences.
The group's initial catalyst for the material came about as Vatalaro was recovering from a stabbing injury inflicted by his brother, among a couple other scrapes that left the would-be singer/songwriter immobile during the summer preceding the meeting on Ferrell's stoop. The best out of that handful of songs can largely be heard off the band's first release, a full length album, so-called: Switchblade Serenade.
During the time of that first release the band gained some momentum, and even an audience with some of the genre’s leading luminaries. However, the rigors of life and fast living have been a challenge that the trio continues to work to overcome. Trash City Rockers truly live up to the mantra: When the going gets tough, the tough get rockin’.
