Born September 4, 1965, in Hollywood, CA. Dad was the rhythm guitarist in a band called 'The Dantes' in the early 60's who turned into a computer geek. Mom, a "surfer girl" from Santa Monica, sang at the Hollywood Bowl on Easter Sunday for sunrise services. Dave's musical discovery began at a very early age. He wrote and played his first song 'Baby' in his 6th grade talent show at Hollingsworth Elem. and won 1st place prize. Two years later, in his 8th grade talent show, Dave played drums on "Stairway to Heaven" in a band called 'Paradox', made up of five band-mates from Lorbeer Jr High's "A" band. It was a magical performance that night and the band stole 1st place from another really good band called "White Hot", who incidentally wrote their own song, with my friends Anthony Cardenas(guitar) and Ray 'Corky' Geiger(drums). Thanks Mr. Northart!
In the early 90's, Dave's band 'Shotgun Kharma' competed in a Battle-of-the-Bands contest against Seattle-based 'Candlebox', which is probably best-known for their hit "Far Behind". The Grand Prize - a recording contract with newly founded Maverick records.
After returning to SoCal upon discharge from the US Navy in Nov. 1993, Dave continued to perform throughout SoCal in various bands as a lead-singing drummer, including his most recent band 'displayst'. In 2006, Dave produced some demo sessions under the tentative name '3D Pyro'(see MySpace profile ), which yielded several recordings, including "Take Away". In 2001 Dave began recording songs from The Beatles' catalog (see http://www.myspace.com/one-man-tribute-band) and so far has recorded over 30 of them! Dave is currently in his home studio writing and recording new material as well as the occasional cover tune. All vocal parts and instrumentation are performed by Dave. Please leave comments about the music and have a peaceful day.
