Gabriel Jay Lustman , better known as GABE, born in New Orleans, LA, the birthplace of Jazz, and a great gumbo mixture of music, in the USA. First indicator of a life dedicated to music
Humming and singing melodies playing with toys bought by his parents, before you could talk, a second indicator, of the direction that your life is headed for.
Travelling around the globe with his military family gave GABE a great incite to human beings personalities, environmental influences, home grown music, rhythms and styles. The more you travel the more you learn. His late father was a career Navy man who loved the sounds of Luther Vandross, the Temptations and other Motown groups. Listening to that music is captivating, uplifting, and gives you the desire for expression.
After performing in a 9th grade talent show, GABE decided to pursue a career in singing. He spent 6 hours a day in the bathroom with cassette tapes dubbed from his Dads CD’s and Radio listening to the Temptations, Usher, Justin Timberlake, R. Kelly and 98 degrees.
In 2006 he met a local Minneapolis producer Ricky Oyaro and was introduced to studio recording. That led to recording a self-titled effort in the summer of 2007, which has not been released.
His being around all the geniuses at work, and trying to pursue his career led to meeting with other local groups, like, a local boy pop group formerly know as LS3 (now known as Ellis One), that led to performing on Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show on CBS and MTVs Top Pop Group. From there this fantastic ride took him to J.R. Rotem (beluga heights), Kay Gee (Divine Mill), Jai (nextwun) at this point it was felt that GABE should be a solo artist, that’s when the persona of GABE really appeared.
GABE is a prolific writer, who writes daily and most of all the lyrics that he approaches are his own. He also creates all of his own melodies. Working with him is a musicians dream.
GABE, later went on tour with Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Cherish and performed at Georgia State University, First Ave (Minneapolis), Café 290 (Atlanta) and released a mix tape with the help of production team JDP Productions, recorded “The Take Off,” (2010) selling 2000 copies independently in the first week and shortly after following up with his most recent mix tape "State Of Emergency" (2011) accumulating over 100,000 downloads in the first month of release.
GABE’s music is currently buzzing local radio in Minneapolis, Atlanta and has recently been added to College Radio. His most recent releases are promo singles "NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL" & “CHANGED” with a music video on ITunes, You Tube, Amazon and College Radio is breaking it across the USA.
The one thing we know, YOU’RE GONNA HEAR FROM “GABE.”
