Simply Misdirected is a primarily acoustic folk/blues/rock band driven by passion for music. The four members each add their own roots from genres such as folk, delta blues, rock, adult contemporary, indy, and country. Each of their sounds meld together forming the unique and timeless sounds of Simply Misdirected. Because of their strong preexisting friendships prior to the formation and their appreciation for it, the band has a peculiarly intriguing connection that is both audible and visible in live performances. They also spread this connection into the audience and their fan base creating an intimacy at their shows. This obvious connection, the fact that they feed off of each other and their listeners, and their vast array of inspiration and roots is the reason they have been dubbed a Columbus Ohio jam band with a very diverse demographic.
From The Newport Music Hall and rock venues to festivals and The Germain Amphitheater, the band has been noticed by a vast and diverse amount of people. The guys were blessed with the offer to open for Earth Wind and Fire at Germain Amphitheater at one of the venues final shows before it's closing. Simply Misdirected has done fund raising and was at one point the official band for the Ohio chapter of The Children's Heart Foundation. In 2008, the band took 3rd place in the Time Warner local music competition at The Newport Music Hall which consisted of over 70 bands. This past summer in 2011 Simply Misdirected teamed up with 99.7 The Blitz and had the honor of being the band picked for 99.7 The Blitz's Ronni's Road Tour 2011.
Simply Misdirected is currently working on an album and gearing up for booking this coming summer. Dustin, Tom, Lance, and Brandon are all kind hearted, personable musicians who are driven and excited to see what's next for the band.
