Preach Muzak / Bio

Raised in Phoenix, AZ at the height of the crack epidemic and while seeking escape from a troubled home, Preach found himself a homeless runaway at the age of 13.

As a young man, in an unfamiliar neighborhood, Preach Muzak, like many young men of the time, turned to drug dealing and gang banging to survive. Often moving from home-to-home and in and out of the foster care system, Preach used music and writing as a way to escape the world that surrounded him.

After many years in the streets, Preach, equipped with his personal handbook of life signed his first record deal with independent label “Fo’ Life Records”, as a member of a local rap group called “The Survivalist”.

His contributions to the success of the group resulted in their achieving #5 for BILLBOARD’S HOT R&B/HIP-HOP SINGLES and #28 for HOT SINGLE SALES and the group stayed on the charts for 19 weeks. Preach was an integral part of the Survivalist becoming the FIRST PHOENIX RAP GROUP TO HIT TOP 10 ON THE BILLBOARD HOT 100 SINGLES CHARTS. While with The Survivalist, Preach worked with industry giants such as Salih Williams, Battle Cat, Swizz Beats as well as similarly hot producers in the Phoenix-metro area.

Currently living in Atlanta, GA, Preach Muzak is working with the likes of super producer Bangladesh and many other talented artists and producers.

Preach is now gearing up to release an onslaught of new material off his own independent label New Dynasty Enterprises. His unique life experiences have prepared him for this moment and it is at this moment Preach is ready to tell his story and the story of many young men lost in the streets of North America.
