Trillium Vein (musician) is the onstage persona for Natalie Paige Bentley. A Malvern, Pennsylvania native, Bentley is a multimedia talent who released Trillium Vein's debut album "Once Upon A Time" on November 16, 2012. She created Trillium Vein three years ago, and has since directed and produced music videos for two of her singles.
The first, "Smoke & Mirrors," was released in 2010 and has streamed on multiple web outlets including Jannus Live Music Channel and Women of Substance Radio on the Live 365 Network. A year later, "Red Pens (Mace)" came out and is now on rotation on MTV2, MTV.com, MTVHive.com and fuse.tv. Both videos have had more than 100,000 views on YouTube.
In the spring of 2012, Bentley began self producing, directing and writing Trillium Vein's "Once Upon A Time" through her entertainment company NPB ENTERTAINMENT GROUP.
"Once Upon A Time" is an entertainment suite created to take people on a musical journey. It is the first installment of a continuing story and is available exclusively on Trillium Vein's re-designed interactive website. The package includes a concept album, film and storybook. Together, the suite introduces people to a somber, yet hope-filled tale about a lonely king; Trillium, the young heroine trapped in a tower; an evil queen; and a promise of freedom. For the album, Bentley recorded live piano and vocals mixed with orchestration. It was released via Peel Records, her own record label.
Before Trillium Vein, Bentley, who now lives in Philadelphia, established herself as an accomplished actress, filmmaker, writer, director and producer of numerous independent productions under Alabama Productions, Inc. The film "Butterfly Angels" was an early success, which awarded her the Independent Achievement Award from New York International Film Festival. The movie completed two world tours, was a success within the film festival circuit, and screened in Sydney, Australia; London; Orlando, Florida; Toronto; and New York City.
Bentley's work also gained her nominations for "Best Actress" from the International Festival of Cinema and Technology (IFCT) and "Best Short Film" from both IFCT and NYIFF. Aside from "City of Motherly Love" and Butterfly Angels," her other film and television credits include: New Line Cinema's "Prison Song," Aaron Spelling's "Malibu Shores" and MTV's "Singled Out."
Meanwhile, Bentley has scored music for other independent productions, and has directed and produced numerous award-winning music videos for various artists under her production company. Her video “Time,” heard in "City of Motherly Love,” placed in the top 10 finals for Spike Lee’s Babelgum Online Film Festival and Music Nation’s Music Video Awards, and played on fuse.tv. A few of her songs were also heard in “Shadow World,” a documentary series by filmmaker David Kessler. The first segment aired at the International House Philadelphia in the spring of 2010.
Trillium Vein currently has released a single from Once Upon a Time, "Alice" and a brand new video directed by Natalie Paige Bentley & Matteo Mobile.
