Frankie Cadillac / Bio

In the late summer of 2007 Mark Scharf began his solo career and would later become known as “Frankie Cadillac”. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and finally in the early days of March 2008 he found what he was looking for. Frankie Cadillac slaps bass creating a rhythm not unlike any over stoked locomotive, also, providing vocals for well written, high octane original material and “REVVED” up covers from way back cats such as Elvis, Buddy Holly, Bill Hailey, Gene Vincent, as well as, acts from coast to coast like; Stray Cats, The Paladins, Belmont Playboys, Nick Curran and many, many others! The sound Frankie lay down harkens back to the days of juke joints and Roadhouses of yesteryear. When you get right down to it Rockabilly is the name of the game for “Frankie Cadillac”.

"I'm not out here to change the world, by no means." Says Frankie, "I sing about things I know and like...fast women, cheap beer, hotrods and heartache." And with song titles like "Voodoo Love", "Heart on the Run", "Hotrod Betty", and "Ghost Train" the point is very clear. So, come one and all. Gas up your Hotrod and scrub those whitewalls. Put on your cat clothes and comb your hair high. Call on your favorite gal or fella and let them know that Frankie Cadillac is in town. After you put on your Sunday-gitty-up best and polish up your boots, head on down to the pub. Frankie's ready and will be giving it his all on stage for those brave souls who are willing to shed the shackles of an MTV driven music business. For on the 8th day God created Rockabilly and it was good. With radio play and a great start to the success of Frankie's first album "Runnin‘ from the Devil" he is ready for more.

Hailing from the alleyways of Fort Smith, AR and roots reaching across the great US, Mark has been a part of rockabilly and swing act from coast to coast. Starting back in 93’ Mark performed jazz off and on with “Joe’s Henchmen” in New York City, off and on untill 96’ when he returned home. After a short hiatus Mark picked up where he left off and joined a new group, later known as “Straight Eight”. Mark then took his act on the road to Branson, Missouri where he performed with a swing band, “Big Mama’s Swing Cats”. In 1999 Mark again returned home hoping to put together a rockabilly band. As luck would have it, a good friend would come a looking for his fine taste in music. Finally in 2000 Mark was performing with the rockabilly band, “Power Glide 235”. Releasing a five track EP, titled Chrome, on the Fat Rabbit label. So in 2003 Mark set out to form his own band. During his search for the new crew Mark left the drums and began playing upright bass. In mid 2004 Mark founded the rockabilly trio "Atomic Kings". Three years, 1000's of miles, and a new album ready to go Atomic Kings was no more. Mark realized he needed more from himself and headed out on a solo career. Now know as "Frankie Cadillac" he has taken his hotrod bass for one more spin.
