Andrew Boyer, a 19-year-old College freshman in the Dallas area, always had a love for music, not just for today's new releases, but from as far back as the 50's, 60's, and 70's as well. His unique musical taste isn't limited to the recordings popular today among his age group. His love for the oldies, classic rock, traditional gospel, the blues, rockabilly, country, and adult contemporary pop music has added to his local appeal.
"It surprises a lot of people when I take the stage, and they hear me cover hits from such artists as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Bo Diddley, and others during my appearances instead of something like from the Jonas Brothers," Boyer said with a grin. "Anytime I can put smiles on faces, especially during some tough times, that's what means most to me, no matter what age group we're talking about."
Boyer's debut single, "Universe", is expected to release shortly, featuring himself on keyboards as well as lead (and backing) vocals, in a contemporary funk result of some of his creative and diverse songwriting abilities.
"From This Day On", Boyer's upcoming romantic ballad/duet performed with his sister, Lauren Boyer, will release shortly afterward. This duet single will be just in time for wedding season, and will feature Andrew on acoustic guitar, as well as backing keyboard.
