Although Sally Majestic's members are originally from Fort Worth, TX, the band doesn't play traditional Texas music. Rather, Sally Majestic's music is a melodic and approachable blend of alternative pop/rock, punk, and reggae. "Sally Majestic is one of Dallas/Ft. Worth’s most dynamic bands, capable of playing multiple styles ranging from punk to ska and reggae, to just good ol’ rock n roll." - JOSH PITTS, Earth to Josh
Two of Sally Majestic's four members started making music together together in the early 2000's; that was when singer/bassist PJ Fry first joined up with guitarist/singer Scott Vernon. After going through a few line up changes, Sally Majestic ran into drummer Tim Cowdin, and he has had the job ever since. For years, Sally Majestic had been a three piece but is now comprised of four members. In 2013 Sally Majestic added guitarist/keyboardist, and producer of the last two Sally Majestic albums, Ben Napier. With the four-piece lineup in place, Sally Majestic has been able to expand on a live show that has been nominated by the Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards six out of the last seven years as one of the best "Live Bands" in Fort Worth.
Sally Majestic entered the studio in 2010 to record a nine-song ep. And in 2011, the band released it's first album on the independent, Fort Worth-based label, Itchy Horn Records. Sally Majestic's song "Brand New Hat" was nominated by the Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards as Rock Song of the Year. Once again teaming up with Ben Napier of Green Audion Productions, Sally Majestic is currently working on the follow up to 2011's release of their self titled album with plans for a seven-song ep to be available in the fall of 2013.
In the meantime, be on the lookout as Sally Majestic brings their infectious mix of rock, funk and reggae to a stage near you.
