Cymblem is a brotherhood of four brothers influenced by a range of music from Metal bands such as Slipknot and Metallica to the much different genres including The Dave Mathews Band or Crossfade. The four members include Chad Kershner- Lead Vox/ Rythm guitar, Chris Garza- Lead guitar/ Back-up Vox, Matthew Garza- Bass guitar and Kevin Kershner- Drums. After playing together for four years and developing as musicians they experienced much in life that fuels the music they write. In 2008 hurricane Ike destroyed all of their equipment they worked so hard to aquire for many years. Instead of throwing in the towel they carried on trying to find a way to keep the music alive. An idea had surfaced that they should cover some songs and play their originals to make some money to buy new equipment. After learning about 20 songs they played an acoustic show at a bar in Bacliff, Tx. It was successful so they found an open mic at Katies in the same town and headed over. Inquiring for a gig, they learned that the guy hosting the open mic was involved with the Galveston Bay Area Musician's Alliance who organized benefits to raise money for musicians who lost their equipment in the Hurricane. They eagerly decided to work with GBAMA over the next year helping with several benefits and festivals to help other musicians who had felt their pain. Over that year, they slowly rebuilt the foundation of musical influence and equipment they had once lost and were ready to continue driving toward their goal. These four musicians have grown together learning more and more from each other both on stage, as well as off. Now they carry on preparing to hit the road and share their music with everyone that may cross their path. Cymblem will be no stranger to you.
