Seymour Blue / Bio

After graduating high school Caleb Goertz and Tillman Allen set out to through-hike the Appalachian Trail. About 200 miles into the trail Caleb began experiencing knee pain which slowed their progress and eventually forced them to quit. The doctor gave Caleb unfortunate news; “I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but you tore your Fallopian tubes in your knee."

With the dream of through hiking the Appalachian Trail smashed Caleb and Tillman were forced to reexamine their lives. “Dude, we should start a band!” said Caleb. So They did. After a brief spell of experimentation playing as a duo, Caleb on the Synthesizers and Tillman on the Ehru, the men decided towards a more traditional band set up. “Mainly because I had no idea how to play the Ehru.” Commented Tillman on the bands genesis.

They sought a drummer for many moons until Caleb remembered that his ex-soccer coach played the drums. When the band contacted Alex Hinson he was shaving his beard to resemble a cat tail, which obviously went viral on Reddit.

Thus, Seymour Blue was born as we know it today. Because the guy’s in the band hardly agree on any type of music they all three like, the band’s sound can best be referred to as “Mutt Music”, and yes I did make that up just now.

The band will be playing in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas and South Carolina over the summer and plans to return to the studio in July. The band is eagerly searching for new venues to thrash, new friends with floors to sleep on, and of course still trying to gain the attention of Emma Watson which, to their knowledge, has thus far failed.
