Malyssa BellaRosa is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Providence, RI who writes heartfelt, original songs. Blending many different styles - it is hard to pinpoint which "genre" suits her best, but one thing is consistent - the passion in which she writes and performs music. Her powerful, soulful and dynamic vocals have led to several nominations in local magazines as best female vocalist. She has sung opera, rock n roll, blues, funk, folk, jazz - anything with a sweet melody that is worth crooning. Her solo release "Open Up" came out at the end of 2011 and was well received and reviewed. Malyssa is currently working on her second solo album. She has opened up for a broad array of artists from different genres such as for Bernie Worrell, Pat Benatar, Parkington Sisters, Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show, and Zebra to name a few. Some of these shows were during her tenure as the lead singer of the rock band Fall & Bounce, who won the 2012 Providence Phoenix Poll as "Breakthrough Band of the Year" She left the band in February 2013 and in March 2013 also plays with a band called "Malyssa & the Liberators" and recorded a debut EP in May 2013 that was well-received. Malyssa is currently putting together a new project called "The Mad Libs" which will be a musical variety show with a revolving cast of musicians and actors. For 2014 Malyssa's main focus will be her follow-up solo album - due out at the end of the year.
