When I was seven years, I was the fifth mop top. When John died so did my mop. After Young’s Gold Rush and finding the Tea for the Tillerman, I picked and grinned my way to San Francisco for Uncle Sam. Wanting a flower in my hair, I discovered Haight-Ashbury and watched the lights go down in the city.
In 1985 I moved near Luckenbach, Texas and had Bell Bottom Blues. Percy was sledging and bluesman Albert King played to me. As the Years Go Passing by, I revisited Highway 61. At Heaven’s door I had a few Wild Nights and ran into Van the Man. The King was inside.
Mom listens to Patsy Cline. Dad sang along with Al Jolson. The ex-wife enjoyed Ziggy Stardust and grew into Simply Red. While my ex-girlfriend was always comfortably numb so she introduced me to Angus and Malcolm.
