Rachel Elise Kats is a recent graduate from the University of South Carolina. The South Carolina backwoods native of Blythewood was born with a passion to sing, write songs and make others smile. She has been continuously blessed with the amazing opportunity to pursue her dreams, reach for the stars and share her heart and soul with the world.
"Singing and writing music is my fuel to maintain my life. Its my therapy, my friend and my guide when I feel there is no other way. Life would be empty without a form of expression! The greatest expression comes through the believer, and the greatest believer is yourself." --RACHEL ELISE KATS
Rachel has been singing since she was four years old. She started out in church and continued growing as a musician at the start of middle school when she picked up the flute in the symphonic band, which she continued throughout high school. After the death of her grandpa in 2003 she needed a form of release and true expression, that's when her dad took her to Star Music and she bought her first Fender acoustic guitar. Music rang through the trees as she began writing her music and playing for who ever would listen. Her talents have helped her up through many tragedies in her life. The most recent being the loss of a best friend, "RED" COLEMAN (10/16/09) and then her dad LEON KATS (11/4/09), both sudden and unexpected deaths. With the encouragement from family and friends she dedicated two songs, one for the each of them. We wish her the best of luck as she tackles the music business with her head held high and faith molded firm!!!
