"If you're one in a million, then you're not the only one."
SteveLan Harper is more than just your typical rapper from Oakland, California with tattoos, a taper fade, and waves. With his witty wordplay and influential energy, he's quite possibly the next best Hip Hop artist to come out of the Bay Area. Born on March 13, 1985 to a single-parent household, he used his music as a gateway to express his anger and frustrations of growing up in a violent, drug-infested city, with only the support of his mother.
SteveLan became serious about pursuing a rap career in 2008 after graduating from college and quickly began spending countless hours in the studio with a few of his childhood friends Serra Tone'n and $tix churning out hits which resulted in the 2009 smash "I Love Doe". Beginning to make its mark in the Bay Area "I Love Doe" became a hood favorite and solidified the start of a promising career for SteveLan. In 2010 SteveLan dropped his first mixtape entitled "Freight Train" aka "No Brakes". Proving that he could stand on his own, he vowed to up the ante. In 2011 he did exactly that by helping form a group project called "Smooth Ghetto Jazz" with other Oakland artists. Most notable is GQ (9th Wonders JAMLA Academy Artist). The album garnered over 20,000 downloads. The immediate success of Smooth Ghetto Jazz paved way for SteveLan to drop his follow up mixtape entitled "iBelieve". In 2012, he was signed to BlaqLine Entertainment and had his first major performance opening up for Tyga during All-Star Weekend 2012 in Orlando, Florida. Today, SteveLan is currently in the studio with The Fresh Killers working on his solo EP, “Lyric Fluid” coupled with group projects with his m.F.m (music.Family.money) Group. He can be found performing at clubs and venues around the entire Westcoast bringing his dreams to fruition.
SteveLan has not had an easy road, proving why fans love him for his honest lyrics and triumphant spirit. SteveLan draws from personal desires, experiences, relationships, family and everyday living to illustrate his life in full. Not only is SteveLan engulfed in his music pursuits, but also since 2004 he has been a part of a non-Profit called “Fam1stFamily Foundation,” a group of professional athletes headed up by Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn "The Only Beastmode" Lynch who are giving back to the Oakland community.
SteveLan, now more seasoned and skillful, with new singles like "On Me" and "Rocking Rolling" SteveLan is preparing to splash onto the scene and solidify his brand and make a significant impact on people with his authentic sound. “I’m loaded down with good music; I’m in it for longevity”. With an incredible fan base, an infectious sound and backed by the best team, many including top Bay Area Producer Traxamillion are convinced that "SteveLan is certified next up".
