Bareda...A Prince In The Making
"
In the summer of 2008 Prettyboy Reda recorded a "thank God it's Friday" dance track called "Bank Roll". Unexpectedly the track caught the ears of DJs Q Deezy and Cosmic Kev (Power 99 FM Philly's #1 station) and was featured on their Friday night broadcast, "The Come Up Show". The response was greatly appreciated by Prettyboy Reda who began to see his childhood passion materialize into what he had always dreamed.
Prettyboy Reda, born Deshon Pygatt, fell in love with music when he heard "Thriller". In his neighborhood he would "mess around" and rap with his friends. But it was ultimately striving to be better than his godbrother, that vested his interest in rapping. At thirteen he moved from North Philly to West Philly and picked up the name Prettyboy Reda. He attended University City High School where we would battle anyone every chance he got, whether it was in the hallway or the lunch room. Emerging from the school battles came, Double Jeopardy, a duo that Bareda formed with Keith Turner aka Mook Money. Double Jeopardy hooked up with Rick Young, CEO of The Beat Factory. They began to develop themselves under the production of Rick Young, Kwame, and J Strong. After one year Double Jeopardy went their separate ways. Bareda turned what could've been an excuse to give up, into inspiration to go further. He began to concentrate heavily on building his reputation in the street. In 2005 he became affiliated with Headshot Records run by Marcus Davis aka Young Bob. Through this affiliation he was featured on numerous mixtapes and DVDs.
