Real Hip Hop with an international Flavour is what you can expect from The Commission. As the hip hop movement begins to retreat back to its glory days, a group of youngsters from the home of the Beatles are set to go global.
The Commission are determined to resuscitate hip hop and give it a new lease of life. Hip-hop was not just a smart way of lacing great puns as lyrics: it was a way of life, a state of mind and even considered as an art form. The collective group of emcees consists of Simon-sez, Mico, Golden Poetry, Afro, Big Boss, A-train and Nick Abstracts. The commission’s music breathes the very essence of real hip-hop but with a modern stance. Many of their musical influences are deeply rooted in their music, dating back to the 90s such as Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Big L, Wu Tang Clan, Tupac, Big Pun, Mobb Deep, GhostFace Killah, NWA, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and many more.
