Award winning songwriter, JACKIE CARLYLE was discovered early on by the late Don Costa, and hailed as a lyrical genius. Somewhere on her road she realized that, IT'S NOT THE FAME, IT'S THE FLAME that mattered, and with that in mind, continued to put out great songs. I have always felt that writing came through me; it was a gift given to me by some higher power, especially the words. If I had the choice, I don't think I would have chosen this path for myself; I feel it chose me.
I remember when I was very young, the first time I heard the first few lines to the Paul Simon song, "Hello Darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again. I felt for the first time in my life that I wasn't alone on this earth; that there was someone else who understood. And so I took the poetry that I hid under my bed, and began to feel some pride in what I did. And I wrote, and wrote, all night long sometimes, because I wanted to make other people feel the way Paul Simon had made me feel". not alone.
