The Twang Bangers / Bio

Imagine Texas alternative country with a kick of Tennessee twang. The edge of today's country music with vocals reminiscent of the genre's 1990's boom. A hybrid encompassing a variety of southern roots, country and rock influences spliced with real-life Americana.

With a high-energy, interactive show that attracts audiences of all ages, THE TWANG BANGERS have cultivated an idea that formed in the practice rooms of the East Tennessee State University bluegrass program only to become a country music group on the rise.

"I don’t believe ‘powerful’ is nearly enough word to describe what this band does on stage," wrote Donna Rea of CountrysChatter.com in 2012. "They need to add a few more adjectives to that. I think words like energetic, charismatic, talented, fun, entertaining…and a few more might work to adequately describe these guys to anyone who may not have seen them."

Word of mouth and social media has given the band a fan-base that branches far from its East Tennessee roots and produced opportunities to share the stage with the likes of Josh Turner, Uncle Kracker, Trent Tomlinson, Corey Smith, James Wesley and Chris Stapleton.

With nine original tracks recorded in both Nashville and their home base of Johnson City at their sails, featuring an all-original blend of traditional country music with the progressive sounds of modern country radio — a unique niche in this contemporary era — THE TWANG BANGERS show no sign of slowing down.
