Rahsaan Thomas - A well-rounded Poet from Louisville,KY…, whose life was influenced early on by the mistakes (personal demons) of others. Parental mis-guidance led him in his early years to mastering the art of self-destruction. After passing up a college scholarship only to receive a darker institutional experience, Rahsaan's faith has led him to become the man he is today.
Once mentally dead and emotionally troubled, Rahsaan has risen to a higher calling. Learned in Christianity, Islam, and even Native American beliefs, he knows that he is who God made him to be and uplifting others through his poetry is his destiny.
Among his many accomplishments, Rahsaan has mentored a youth poetry group and has performed at spoken word events, black history events and various open mic venues in Atlanta, Manhattan, Chicago, Cincinnati, Louisville, St Paul, Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Tampa.
Rahsaan is a survivor who has gained wisdom from his past and has overcome the pain. His poetry is saturated with overcoming and understanding that has come from his yesterday's. His tomorrows are for the love of his life and his daughter, Bethany.
Truly a Biblical, motivational, and inspirational hero, Rahsaan's goal is to influence self-healing and inspire change in others through his poetry and his story. Follow his flow on Facebook:
