Animal Eyes is a continually unfolding recording based project, conceptualized and organized by Portland based singer/songwriter Jake Fenske (formerly, bassist for Portland based rock band, Why We Fear Fiction). The project is a compilation of Fenske's musical ideas accompanied by several Portland based musicians for various tracks and performances, including Michelle Christenson on saxaphone and Dusty Williams on trumpet for "Psychic Nurse" and Owen Hoffman Smith on back up vocals and cello for the "In The End" recording. Animal Eyes seeks to articulate and illuminate a variety of moods and aspects of possibility through sound and lyrics, featuring tracks from simple four-track recordings in living rooms and basements, to live open mics and more advanced home-recording studios.
