Kenny “Keys”Robinson was born on December 1st, 1959 in Queens General Hospital in Queens New York. His father the late Reverend B.T. Robinson pastored the Church of Christ Holiness in Harlem NYC The youngest of ten children, Kenny followed in the footsteps of his older brother Rev. David I. Robinson (pastor of the SHAW AMEZ CHURCH in Amityville L.I. NY, who led a very successful regional contemporary gospel group called “The Robinson Ensemble”. Learning keyboard under his older brother’s tutelage, Kenny began playing in church by age 11. The Gateway 2nd C.O.G.I.G. in Queens NY is where Kenny would spend his formative years as the church’s musician and choir director. Deciding early on to pursue music as a profession, Kenny began taking formal music lessons at age 13.
