Wendy Ramsay started playing guitar when she was 24, wrote her first song at 26 and after a long hiatus from music has returned to the singer/songwriter scene over the past year or so. Her quirky originals and covers are an eclectic mix, influenced by artists such as They Might Be Giants, the B-52s, the Carpenters, the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Elvis Costello, Liz Phair, the Lemonheads, Dar Williams, Girlyman, Indigo Girls, the Muffs, the Donnas and Violent Femmes.
In addition to solo gigs, Ramsay is a member of Joanne Perry and the Unstoppables and JPR-3 with Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers and Josh Dekaney. Recently she has formed a duo with Pete Thomas. She can be heard singing lead and harmonies with other local artists at various open mics in Central New York.
Wendy Ramsay grew up in Brockport and lived in Rochester for some time after relocating to the Central New York area about 10 years ago.
