Ethereal Spectrum is a flute, guitar, and percussion trio created to fuse popular, rock, jazz, electronic music, and improvisation into an exciting blend of ambient grooves that has been described as “electronic space pop” and “melodically purifying”.
Formed in the winter of 2009, Ethereal Spectrum has already recorded their first EP, and performed in many popular venues throughout Austin and surrounding areas, including The Ghost Room, The District, Opa Wine and Coffee Bar, Austin Java, and Stone House Vineyard.
Daniel Wilson, guitarist, has been an improvising musician his whole life. Equally and heavily influenced by rock, jazz, and classical, a fusion of these styles is a constant goal that Daniel seeks through improvisation, composition and collaboration.
Sarah Jane Hargis, flutist, has been performing improvisational music for the last ten years. Her adventurous spirit continues to take her to new realms of sonic exploration.
Julio Figueroa is an experienced and versatile percussionist and electronic musician, and loves to fuse world percussion, laptop loops and soundscapes into the music.
In addition, Ethereal Spectrum's eclectic repertoire includes timeless jazz and pop standards, infused with their individual voices, and crafted into unique interpretations.
